Anubis I Case Study: Transmedi

Having been awarded £10,000 to invest in technology, all the winning companies took an innovative idea and weaved it into their businesses. Here is a summary of their successes thanks to the ANUBIS funding.

This company used the money for a market winning idea for travellers.  An internet and mobile phone service which provided medical translations for travellers was implemented and has helped the company to grow.

Since the funding they have also launched two new product services. One is a printed card for travellers.  Their personal details are translated onto a card and includes important information such as any medical conditions.  This has proved extremely popular for children travelling abroad.  The company has also introduced an SMS texting service which allows instant translations to mobiles.

The company has also streamlined its ordering system and the ANUBIS funding enabled a system to be developed so print outs could be issued in PDF formats.  This cut costs per transaction by over 50 per cent.

Transmedi is not sitting still.  It has opened up an office in Portugal for the Portuguese and Spanish markets.   It is also currently in discussions with the Dti to enter the German and Australian markets.

Managing Director Simon Bland said, “The ANUBIS support gave our product the opportunity to develop into a market winning idea for travellers.  It also gave the team that foundation of confidence and financial support to build our vision.”
