ANUBIS - Micro investment in ICT

ANUBIS and the Innovative Actions Programme

The ANUBIS project was originally developed as part of the EU Innovative Actions Programme in the East Midlands.

The Innovative Actions Programme was recognition by the EU that there is an increasingly tight regulatory framework places significant constraints upon innovation in project development and delivery. The programme  provided funding for Regional Development Agencies and other public sector organisations to explore new ways of delivering services and experimenting with new types of services for both businesses and communities.

The East Midlands Innovative Actions Programme focused on ICT and awarded funding for a wide range of new and experimental projects including ANUBIS.

An example of best practice

The first ANUBIS project was so successful in the East Midlands Region that it was identified as an example of best practice by the Innovative Actions Programme managers in the EU and also by the Enterprise and Innovation section of the EU. This recognition resulted in ANUBIS being presented as an example of best practice in Economic Development at an E-BSN conference in Finland.

Continuation of funding

The East Midlands Regional Development Agency and the East Midlands European Regional Development Fund have subsequently provided support for and a second and third set of ANUBIS awards which have completed in 2008.
The ANUBIS project provides a flexible and potent cocktail of support for E-Business Entrepreneurs to enable them to achieve the potential of new business opportunities.
