Anubis I Case Study: HumanWare
Having been awarded £10,000 to invest in technology, all the winning companies took an innovative idea and weaved it into their businesses. Here is a summary of their successes thanks to the ANUBIS funding.
HumanWare is an equipment supplier for people with visual disabilities. It was able to train users and staff via video conferencing in a cost effective way with the £10,000 ANUBIS money.
The money was specifically used to invest in new IT hardware and software. A pioneering use of video telephony on the internet has seen an impressive growth in turnover in two of its product lines.
A product for visually impaired and another for blind people has seen a 32 per cent increase in turnover. The company believes it has made a huge difference in how they talk, promote, sell and support their products and services to customers across the UK.
The company has also recruited three new employees whose specific technical knowledge has helped back up the sales offers, and customer relationships.
Without ANUBIS, the company believes it have taken up to three years to fund the investment themselves. The funds leveraged the project at a time when justifying the spend internally was hard to justify.
Chris Withers Green, CFO for Europe HumanWare, said, “Our project was simple in nature but very ambitious. This was a successful investment financially and has made communication easier. It has also driven us closer to our customers and understanding their needs.
Having successfully managed the IT investment and project management capacity, HumanWare now wants to extend its offers to clients in the EU.
